Individual Therapy: Areas of Focus

ADHD Therapy

This type of therapy focuses on helping individuals develop coping strategies, improve organizational skills, and manage emotional regulation. Therapists work with clients to address specific challenges associated with ADHD, such as procrastination, impulsivity, and relationship issues.

Faith Transitions & Religious Harm

This specialized form of counseling is designed to support individuals navigating shifts in their religious or spiritual beliefs or to recover from harms done in religious organizations. Process the emotional and psychological aspects of transitioning away from, or re-evaluating your faith tradition. Through empathetic guidance, you can explore your personal beliefs, deal with feelings of loss or uncertainty, and address any impacts on your relationships and identity.

Perinatal Mental Health

Addresses a range of issues, including prenatal and postpartum depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. It offers support in managing the unique challenges of the perinatal period, such as shifts in identity, relationship dynamics, and the pressures of new parenthood.

Relationship Therapy

Relationship therapy can help with a variety of issues, including:

  • Communication: improves communication skills and create a safe space for partners to express their thoughts and feelings

  • Conflict resolution: helps partners understand and resolve conflicts in a healthy way

  • Intimacy: deepens intimacy and connection between partners

  • Self-awareness: helps partners work on their own self-awareness and personal growth

  • Trust: restores trust between partners

  • Relationship dynamics: helps partners gain a deeper understanding of their relationship dynamics

  • Stressful events: navigate stressful events, such as the birth of a child, a career change, or the loss of a loved one

  • Long-term goals: agree on long-term goals or values

  • Mental health: talk openly about potential mental health issues

  • Parenting: come to agreements on important parenting decisions

In-person or telehealth sessions

These hour-long meetings are weekly or every other week.
They can be conducted either in my office or from the comfort of your own home.

Marathon Couple Sessions

Marathon couple therapy can be a great alternative to traditional weekly couples therapy, which works slowly. I offer evidence based interventions delivered in one to three 6-hour days (with breaks!)

Relationship Perinatal Therapy

New & expecting parents often need specific kinds of help. This exciting life change can shake things up in the relationship and put new strains on each partner. Relationship perinatal therapy can clarify needs and create collaborative solutions with the gentle guidance of a therapist.

More about marathon sessions

Are you seeking to make a big impact in a short amount of time? Marathon Couple Therapy can be a great alternative to traditional weekly couples therapy, which works slowly- one hour a week. I offer evidence based interventions delivered over 1-3 six hour days (with breaks!).

    1. 20-Minute Consultation
We discuss if Marathon Couple Therapy is right for you. We will also discuss the intake process, answer any questions you may have, and book our session dates if you are ready to move forward. This consultation is free of charge.

    2. Assessments
Prior to beginning therapy, you and your partner will each individually fill out a series of relationship assessments

  • Assessment, Feedback, &Foundations

    Couple Intake Session: 1 hour

    Individual Sessions: 1 hour each

    Couple Feedback Session: 1 hour

    Relationship Foundations: 2 hours

Some couples like to just do one Marathon Day to “jumpstart” couple therapy, and then head into traditional weekly sessions.

  • Intensive Treatment

    6 hours/day

2 Hour Segments of therapy with breaks, lunch, & somatic movement in between.

  • We usually schedule several sessions about 3-4 weeks after Marathon Therapy.

These are to help integrate & process the work we have done. They also help you build on and practice new skills. They can aid in preventing relapse of old behaviors.

  • If you're considering marathon therapy, you both should be invested in doing some challenging work.

Interventions will be tailored to the couple’s needs, and often include communication skill work, building friendship and intimacy, working through conflict and gridlock, and creating a balance between self-belonging and connection.

  • Marathon Therapy is priced at the rate of $250 per 60 minute increment. Each day of Marathon therapy typically consists of 6 hours of therapy.

A deposit of 50% is required at the point of reservation in order to confirm and secure your booking for the agreed upon dates. The remaining payment is due at the start of your first session and is non-refundable.

Cancellations can be made up to 30 days prior to your scheduled appointment. Deposits are non-refundable within 30 days. Re-scheduled sessions will be subject to a full charge if not received at least 30 days in advance.

  • Marathon therapy may be unsuitable:

    • If there is active alcohol and/or drug addiction on the part of either or both partners, from either partner’s perspective.

    • If there is serious violence in your relationship, threats by one or both partners that serious violence might occur, or fear of such serious violence on the part of one or both partners.

    • If either partner currently has an untreated major mental illness (schizophrenia, recurrent psychotic depression, or bipolar/manic-depressive illness.) Note: This does not include past, successfully treated psychotic episodes (e.g. post-partum depression with psychosis).

    • If there is an undisclosed, current affair that you are not willing to disclose (such secrets predict marital therapy failure).

    • If there is an ongoing affair and the partner having the affair is not willing to end it.

    • If either partner is currently experiencing suicidal or homicidal thoughts, or has a history of serious harm inflicted on him/herself or another person
